Jimmy Payne is widely known as a successful Boxing Coach and Personal Trainer. A winner of 4 national boxing titles Jimmy has boxed for Ireland at Youth, Junior and Senior levels. As an International Performance Boxing Coach, he has worked with Olympic silver medallist John Joe Nevin and Olympic gold medallist Ryan Burnett. Jimmy has participated in 23 marathons and in 2004 he held a national team record for the Malin to Mizen challenge, a continuous 26 mile relay. He is the founder of the Solas Run For Life in Waterford and Director of the Waterford Viking Marathon.
In the past decade Jimmy has taken on the role of Strength and Conditioning Coach with teams involved in a range of other sports including rugby, basketball, soccer and hurling. He has worked as a fitness coach with the Waterford Senior Hurling Team since 2008 and teams such as the Waterford Wildcats, Waterford Wolves, Waterford GAA development squads, and the Munster High Performance Boxing team.
Holder of the Guinness world 24-hour skipping record (set in 2004), Jimmy has had a lifelong passion to train young people and is passionate about taking them from being a young athlete at the start of their career to being the best in their field.
